HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019!!




HAPPY NEW YEAR!
     
        We are looking forward to our 2019 season at Laura & Tony's Kitchen - it will be our 16th season !
    Around this time, we begin to imagine and create new items that  we would like to introduce to our "Amazing Breakfast Buffet".
    It always makes us happy to be able to cater to our customers dietary restrictions and preferences - so this year we are focusing on adding Vegan and Gluten Free buffet items that will make everyone happy! 
  This is a picture of Vegan "Beef" it is a combination of walnuts, cremini mushrooms and lentils!

    

 Vegan " Beef"
1 Cup Walnuts
1-8oz package Cremini mushrooms sliced
1 cup cooked lentils

Place  items in  food processor and pulse until crumbled
Place crumble in a bowl and 
add Salt , Freshly ground pepper, 1 tsp cumin , 1tsp fennel seed , 1/4 teaspoon Ancho chili powder and 1 tsp of Fennel Seed.

1/2 cup diced onion
2 cloves Garlic , minced 

Preheat a skillet , I used a Cast Iron , add 2 teaspoons of  olive oil , saute onion until translucent , add minced Garlic and Crumble and brown  until mushrooms are cooked through.
Enjoy -This can be browned off and kept in the refrigerator, it is an  excellent to topping for salads , tacos , enchiladas and  quesadillas,you can even add  it to pasta sauce ! This can be browned off and kept in the refrigerator as a healthy alternative to ground beef.
